Known as the death’s-head hawkmoth (Acherontia atropos), this moth is one of the most well known in the world. It has great significance in many cultures and is thought to be an omen of death. Originating from several superstitious beliefs and movies like Silence of the Lambs. This sinister moth can squeak and gets its name from the skull shape on its thorax.
