Collected from the beaches of Coastal Georgia, this display showcases a variety of fossilized Atlantic Corals (Scleractinia). Coral reefs face many threats, primarily from carbon dioxide, rising ocean temperatures, careless water practices, coral mining and damage from oxybenzone (a chemical found in most sunscreens). See how the Georgia Aquarium is working to rebuild the reefs.
